Cambodia: Day 6

Off to Siem Reap today. We opted to take a bus to Siem Reap...a 6 hour bus journey....it was a looooooooooooooong journey...314km on a 2 lane highway...fortunately, the roads are well paved. This bus company is rather special...they have bus stewards on board who are in-charge of serving us water, food ( bread), wet towels and also a short narration of the places where we passed by in English and Khmer..not bad eh. Halfway through the journey, there will be a short stop for toilet break. There isnt any R&R's like on Plus highway there..lol...we and every other bus passengers from other buses too use the toilets at a restaurant...how nice of them to let ppl use their toilets without buying food/drinks from them. The next 3 hours were filled with rain and honking from the bus and some Cambodian karoake tv entertainment on the bus.

Arrived in a wet muddy Siem Reap in the evening, met our tour guide who brought us to our guesthouse. Woohh..so happy when we went to our room, 3 comfy beds in a room, with AIRCON!! ( a luxury in Cambodia), HOT WATER!!! ( another luxury) plus free internet at the computers at the lobby and a pool table...all for 15usd/room a night..oh joy! They have crocodiles at the back of the guesthouse too..yeah u read it correctly...CROCS! live ones....i wonder if they are pets or food.

Had more Cambodian cuisine at a local restaurant which the tour guide recommended. The dish i ordered was rather yummy and oh so filling. Hak ( who was so nice to come back to Siem Reap with us) joined us for dinner too then brought us to walk around the city.

Nightlife here is vibrant. First, there's Pub Street....the whole street is filled with pubs and live music...lovely! There's this pub, Red Piano, where Angelina Jolie had a drink there once upon a time..hence they named a cocktail after her...the "Tomb Raider Cocktail" ....haha....wanted to give it a try but i rather save my 4usd for shopping.hehe.

Walked further to see the 5-star hotels like Raffles hotel, the Amansara that have rooms that go up to 2000usd a night...gosh....passed by the Angkor National Museum too

Covered the whole city in 2 hours...legs were totally aching after the walk. Cooled down with some vodka cruiser and off to sleep..zzzzzz
