Cambodia: Day 1

Was really excited today!! Its the day we fly off to Cambodia.woot!! Reached LCCT just in time to join the checking in queue..thankfully luggage was under 15kgs.phews. It was my first time flying on Air Asia...boy...the plane was small compared to what i am used to..lol...not very comfortable when a big dude is sitting next to you and he takes up your half on the hand rest. Thank goodness it was only a 2 hr flight.

Arrived at the airport on time...to my surprise..the airport was pretty modern hahah.

Nathan from His Child International met us at the airport and then we headed back to the ministry's hq. On the way, we stopped by Lucky Supermarket...this is one of the bigger air conditioned supermarkets i have noticed so far in Cambodia...had Lucky burger for dinner...the "pork burger" instantly caught my eye because you will never ever get that here...was rather yummy yet greasy. Sabrina belanja-ed us to bacon wrapped sausages too...thumbs up for the crispy bacon.

After dinner, went grocery shopping to buy food to cook for our meals throughout our stay and lotsa mineral water ( in Cambodia...only mineral water is safe to drink...for us foreign ppl). By the time we reached home at 7.00pm their time...it was pitch black ( sunrise is at 5.30am and sunset is at 6.30pm) because electricity is expensive in Cambodia hence all lights are switched off except if you need it. And that also means no aircons(the weather is freaking hotttt!!! and no water heater..brrrrr) Wooh..exhausted for the day.

Ah...and i noticed something else in Cambodia...the traffic!! Drivers here drive with minimal road rules. Everytime they overtake a car, they honk. honk honk honk!!!! the melody of the roads. Most motorcycle passengers dont wear helmets too and often enough..u'll be able to see 3 adults on a motorcycle. Lotsa tuk-tuks and remurks( open air boat with wheels pulled by a motorcycle...can cramp in 10-15 ppl) and 4wds. Transport culture so diff from Malaysia.

On the remurk...
